Type of Membership
The members shall be:
a) Life Members
Fees - 5000 Any member with adequate qualification in Geology with prudent professional record are eligible for life membership with voting rights.
b) Fellow Members
Fees - 1000 Any person with adequate educational qualification in Geology, or engaged in practice or teaching of Geology are eligible for Fellowe membership with voting rights, provided the applicant holds a Bachelor degree in Geological Sciences from a college of acceptable academic standards.
The executive committee may waive degree or current professional activity requirements, if in its judgement, an applicant has adequate professional experience and has attained standing in the profession.
c) Associate Members
Fees - 00 Any student majoring in Geology or in a field of study related to or generally associated with Geology at a college of acceptable academic standards are eligible for student membership without any voting rights. Student membership shall terminate upon termination of academic enrolment.
d) Honorary Members
Fees - 00 Honorary members shall be those, who shall have contributed distinguished service to the cause of Geo-sciences and are the recipients of National level awards in Geo-Sciences, upon recommendation of Advisory council may also be considered as Honorary members without any voting rights. Such determination will be made by the executive committee. Honorary members shall not be required to pay any fees, but shall have all the privileges & advantages of active membership in the association, except for the voting rights.
